FINANCE MANAGER JOB SUMMARY

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and oversee the dayto day operations in the Accounts Department.
  • Ensure that financial policies and procedures are implemented, compliant and followed effectively.
  • Oversee the development, training and performance of the team within the Finance / Accounts department.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team, and other departments as required, to ensure that any outstanding work, issues that arise, are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Create and implement effective financial procedures, polices and standards for the Team to adhere to
  • Ensure all company financial practices are in line with statutory regulations & legislations
  • Manage the Accounts mailbox, ensuring all queries are dealt with and responded to within agreed timeframes.
  • Manage and Monitor cashflow, accounts and other financial transactions
  • Preparation of Management Accounts for sign off
  • Work alongside the management team, as well as the appointed Accountants
  • Liaise with HMRC and ensure that all payments are made on time
  • Overview of Sales and Purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Carry out cashflow forecasting for the business using historical trends to ensure accuracy and manage our cash position.
  • VAT management
  • Prepare daily & monthly reports for the board on the financial performance, this may extend to gathering and presenting financial information to the board, and 3rd parties, as required
  • Maintain relationships with Bank Managers, Accountants, Customers, Suppliers and other service providers outside of the organisation
  • Keep up to date with credit control & dealing with any escalated queries
  • Prepare departmental & company annual budgets
  • Analyse & reporting
  • Oversee the Payroll function within the company you may be required to process the payroll as well, but in time this may be carried out by a team member
  • Payroll
- holiday pay calculations as per Government guidelines and payments
