    Grabyo is the video platform built for live, social and mobile. The cloud-based platform removes the traditional complexities of professional video production and distribution.

    Grabyo is trusted by major sports teams, federations and broadcasters such as ITV, the Premier League and UFC to name only a few.

    Our platform integrates with the major social platforms - including Instagram, Periscope, Twitter, and YouTube. Grabyo is also a preferred streaming partner for Facebook Live and TikTok.
    Amazon Web Services is the main hosting provider for Grabyo. Every product of the platform is architected and built for scalability and high availability for a global client base.

    Being a cloud-based platform allows engineers to remain agile and gives them the freedom to try new things without compromising on reliability and speed of development.

    We achieve this by pushing the platform and the team to use the latest technologies and to give you a whole new set of responsibilities.

    You will be responsible for your products end to end, from design and architecture to releasing and supporting in production.

    If technology gets you going in the morning, then you are in the right placeAs a Junior Java Software Engineer at Grabyo; you will have exposure to the backend APIs and services that sit at the core of the Grabyo Platform.

    Some days you might be part of the team working at the core of services like live transcoding or automated closed captioning; while other days you might be part of the team architecting our platform to improve our path to microservices.

    Java, JavaScript, Go, NoSQL, serverless architectures, microservices, auto-scaling and auto-recovery, AWS Kinesis, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, media processing, Terraform - these are a few of the state-of-the-art techs you will be working with.

    To make sure you keep growing your knowledge around tech, we provide you with professional development opportunities like Hackathons, Tech hours, and have a development budget and pair programming days to improve our automated testing culture.

    Some of your responsibilities at Grabyo include (but are not limited to):Building awesome APIs as well as sleek, beautiful front-end client experiencesBuilding reliable micro-services and serverless architecturesIterating and optimizing products based on feedback and data analysisTaking ownership of your work/project by designing, building, maintaining, iterating and supporting new features and new productsRequirementsHow do I get this job?Proficiency in JavaProfessional experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL)Knowledge of micro-service oriented architecturesProven expertise with cloud providers (bonus points for AWS - our chosen cloud provider)Passion for emerging technologiesAt least a years commercial experience.

    The recruitment process (all via Google Meets Video Calls)We aim to have a quick and dynamic hiring process.

    This process lasts around two weeks and it has the following stages:

    Initial face to face interview (around 1 hour) to understand your interests and career expectations to ensure we are a good fit for each other.

    Technical test to be completed at home.
    Final interview (around 2-3 hours) with our lead developers to go through your test and your technical knowledge.
