We have an exciting opportunity to an NMP to join the friendly and dynamic Derby City team, based at St Andrews House in Derby.

We would also welcome applicants who wish to develop their practice and in their career and complete the NMP training.


The Derby Wellbeing Service are a multi-disciplinary team made up of a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, OTs, Psychology, NAs and Administrators providing timely care and intervention to adults experiencing mental health difficulties.


The senior clinical role of NMP involves clinic-based and community-based work, working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and be part of the new Derby Wellbeing Service.

Support and supervision is readily available and personal development is encouraged.


We are looking for someone with excellent clinical skills, experience of working within mental health services preferably adults and understands the complexities this brings.

The successful applicant will be passionate, innovative and be a positive senior role model within the service.


Relocation package would be available for the successful applicants the terms of which would be discussed and negotiated at that time.


  • The post holder will be expected to participate in the provision of specialised mental health assessments and the delivery of care and treatment which is evidence based and in line with current government guidelines.
  • The post holder will be expected to lead, promote and support a prescribing service as an integral part of the care delivered by the CMHT.
  • In addition to working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and other team members, they will link with GPs, primary care practitioners, community matrons, pharmacists and statutory and voluntary agencies within their prescribing role
  • They will be expected to share prescribing information, evidence, and rationale for prescribing decisions
  • To lead in the promotion, development and implementation of prescribing, care, and treatment within the CMHT.

  • The post holder will exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgment, discretion and decision making in clinical care within the CMHT
  • To work alongside the Service Manager and Consultant Psychiatrists in coordinating the team in the delivery of highquality multidisciplinary care
  • The post holder will ensure patients receive appropriate investigation, intervention and treatment with mínimal avoidable delays, whilst improving the quality and experience of care
  • In collaboration with the Service Manager, to monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through, supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidenced based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership
  • The post holder will lead and manage a prescribing and clinic service in collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrists in the team
  • To be responsible for completing specialist mental health assessments and developing pharmacological treatment plans as an autonomous practitioner and to monitor interventions, ensuring compliance in accordance with Trust policy
  • To maintain professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of highquality care.
