Find flexibility in your working hours

Join our large team here at Kernow Veterinary Group. We can offer varied weekly hours between two and four days. Full time (40 hours per week) roles are generally four full week days with one of those being an early finish.
We strongly encourage continuity of care and the working up of cases, you will usually be based at one site, however some flexibility to support our other sites when needed may be necessary.
Here at Kernow Veterinary Group we carry out our own OOH care for in patients. Applicants for this role will be expected to take part in the rota to provide this care. Our emergency overnight OOH is shared between our dedicated night vet and a local IVC practice.

    Join our well equipped sites

Each site is fully equipped for diagnostics and surgery. We are a well-equipped which allows you to offer our clients the best level of care. All in patient care and overnight hospitalisation is carried out at our Lostwithiel surgery where we have 24 hour on site RVN nursing care.

We have a lovely working environment and offer a great work-life balance for our staff. Our priority is to encourage our team to continue to learn and grow and we will guide you to develop within your own professional interests. Certificates are well-funded and supported, we currently have team members with further qualifications in or working towards surgery, emergency medicine, dentistry & ophthalmology.

    What else do we offer?

  • Large clinical team we have a wide range of experience
  • Lots of clinical support is available
  • RVN team is experienced also with a wide range of skills
  • We offer referrals in behaviour and dermatology
  • Are you the perfect fit?

With a large team we can support and develop a range of experience so anyone from recent graduates, through people looking to develop, to others with many years of experience looking for somewhere to use those skills could be great for us – we are open minded about this. To us it's more about the person having the same team spirit, the striving for high clinical standards and providing support to others that's important. For this reason we expect input into the OOH for our in - patients. This will include some nights and weekend work. Because everyone takes part in this it means the rota has less impact on work life balance for all. We also have some great new graduates working within our teams so people with an interest in mentoring and willing to coach through their GDP's would be great.

Relocating? We are happy to support

We are based across mid Cornwall with easy access to both coast of Cornwall along with Bodmin Moor. Our small animal surgeries are in St Austell, Lostwithiel, Bodmin & Liskeard. The are close to the main A30 , mainline train services and Newquay Airport.
We are happy to support anyone looking to relocate, whether you are a keen surfer, sailor, runner, cyclist , hiker, horse rider or most other outside activity its all available within Cornwall This works well with the great work/life balance we can offer.
Did you know we also have great theatres, restaurants and music venues with many music & food festivals or other events throughout the year. The Eden Project is also within our area
