    Job Advert Role Description

    Our Consultant Neuropsychologist role involves:

    -Offering clinical leadership and overseeing the specialised neurobehavioural rehabilitation programme

    -Delivering clinical neuropsychology into the 3 wards

    -Actively engaging and contributing to appropriate local networks

    -Forming positive relationships with commissioners of services

    -Assessing the suitability of referrals made to the service

    -Overseeing the routinely collated service level clinical outcome measures (SASBO, MOAS), and where necessary identifying areas for continual improvement in the quality of the therapeutic programme

    -Contributing to the supervision and specialist training of members of the multidisciplinary team and in particular meeting the supervision and training needs of any Assistant Pschologists in post

    -Establishing and maintaining a research culture within the service.

    To be successful as Consultant Neuropsychologist, you will need the following Professional Qualifications & Memberships

    -Recipient of a BPS accredited and HCPC approved Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent

    -Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC

    -Chartered Member of the BPS

    -The ideal candidate would have undertaken post doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology and be entered on the BPS Special Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists

    -Psychologists qualified in other disciplines with experience of neuropsychology will be considered

    Professional Competencies & Experience

    -Track record of effectively delivering clinical neuropsychology input to neurobehavioural rehabilitation services for people with ABI and challenging behaviour

    -An advocate of neurobehavioural rehabilitation

    -Advanced skills to assess, formulate, and evaluate complex cases, includingh the ability to manage multifaceted information, working in conjunction with service users and the multidisciplinary team, drawing from a range of applicable therapeutic, evidence-based psychological therapies

    -Proven ability to produce clear, accurate formulations wchich then inform onward management. Ability to work with the wider care team to ensure consistency of care and adherence to psychologically driven management plans

    Personal Skills & Qualities

    -A professional who is able to positively influence a range of internal/external stakeholders to effectively promote and market Brain Injury Services

    -A professional who can work with the Service Leads in setting standards, producing recommendations and effectively communicating these to the wider care team.

    A flexible working arrangement can be arranged to cover the contracted hours of 22.5 hours per week, this will be split over three days per week.
