Arbour House School is an independent SEN school with split sites – Lower (Primary) and Upper, based in Weymouth and Dorchester for young people aged 6-18 with complex social, communication and learning needs.

We provide a bespoke, creative and stimulating curriculum with a particular focus on developing independent living skills and real-life learning.

We aim to support our pupils to achieve to their full potential, contribute to their communities, gain meaningful employment or progress to further education.

Provide effective leadership of our Lower School (Primary) site alongside the Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher.

Play an active part in the development of the Lower School (Primary) leadership team and participate in the creation and delivery of objectives set through the School Development Plan.

Ensure the education and welfare of Lower School (Primary) pupils, having due regard to the school's ethos, aims, objectives and policies.

Share in the corporate responsibility for the wellbeing and pastoral care of all pupils throughout the school.
Evidence of recent and relevant professional development.
Additional relevant qualification in the field of SEND desirable but not essential.

A proven track record of recent and successful teaching of children with learning disabilities and complex needs, including autism and behaviours that challenge.
