    At The Wise Seeker we are looking for aOccupational Therapist to work with one of our clients located inthe UK: a small independent day school for neurodivergent childrenand young people aged from 7 to 19 who have a primary diagnosis ofAutism.

    Location: Finchley/MuswellHill

    The successful candidate will only berequired to work 40 weeks peryear.

    The post holder will alsowork closely with education colleagues and the SLT to provideappropriate OT input and training as well as contribute to ourholistic approach to mental and physical wellbeing within theschool.

    The successful candidate will work withour neurodivergent young people who present with sensory mentalhealth and special educational needs associated with theirdiagnosis of autism. Many of our students have additional diagnosesof ADHD dyslexia and DCD.


    Functions

    • Tofacilitate Occupational Therapy interventions to a defined caseloadworking with an agreed degree of autonomy and independence withregular support/supervision from the Therapy Team Lead and anexternal clinical supervisor (asrequired).
    • Provide supervision for OT and OTassistant.
    • Conduct initial parent/carermeetings to determine case history andneeds.
    • Facilitate initial assessment sessionsemploying appropriate assessment methods to determineneeds.
    • Plan prepare deliver and evaluatesupport programmes for pupils and oversee individualprogrammes.
    • Provide individualised targets aspart of each pupils IEP in consultation with parents and teachingstaff.
    • Report on the development progress andattainment of pupils and maintain records ofinterventions.
    • To keep confidential clinicalcasenotes for each student in line with professionalstandards.
    • To write reports tocontribute to Annual Review meetings.
    • Tomaintain regular communication with parents teaching staff and MDTto support a joined up approach aroundstudents.
    • To contribute to multidisciplinaryteam meetings student focus meetings and class meetings to shareinformation and provide appropriatestrategies.
    • To deliver staff training includingOccupational Therapy induction for newstaff.

    Requirements

    • Youmust hold a BSc or MSc in OccupationalTherapy
    • You must be registered with the Healthand Care Professions Council (HCPC) and be a registered practicingmember of RCOT
    • Relevant experience working withautistic children and young people
    • Experienceworking within school settings
    • Knowledge ofcompetencies/standards framework required for the relevant therapydiscipline
