    We are looking for an enthusiastic worker who will be able to work both alone and as part of a highly motivated Multi Agency Team (across Derby City).

    You will work with some of the most vulnerable families in Derby to promote their children's welfare and prevent escalation into Children's Social Care. Assist with the implementation of the Early Intervention Agenda, by providing advice and support to universal agencies/ professionals and families across Derby City and covering children from birth to 19 years.

    You will act as the first point of contact for families and professionals who are requesting support where emerging needs are requiring assessment and intervention. This ensures that families receive the right support and service at the right time.

    You will be based within the Early Intervention Multi Agency Team and work closely with Social Care colleagues, especially supporting Initial Response/Reception Teams (which is the first point of call for professionals and families wanting advice from Children's Social Care).

    Within this role you will be expected to -


    • You should have experience of working with vulnerable families/children and an awareness of the Early Help and safeguarding process.

    • Provide, plan and deliver appropriate advice and support to professionals and families with emerging vulnerabilities. Using the Early Help Assessment/signposting to aid this.

    • To empower professionals to use Early Help Assessment and Team Around The Family Plans confidently and effectively remodelling best practise.

    • You will require a sound knowledge of children's development and safeguarding thresholds. Ensuring the voice of the child is captured throughout all aspects of work.

    • When required undertake an Early Help Assessment either directly with families and or supporting a professional network ensuring there is an appropriate action plan of support.

    • Co-ordinate chair and write effective Team Around the Family Plans.

    • Be part of the development and delivery of city-wide Early Help Assessment training to partners and internal services.
