Are you ready to undertake a new challenge to broaden your experience in acute dietetics?


The Ageing and Complex Medicine Team (ACM) are looking for a dietitian who would like to join a busy team of dietitians and Dietetic assistants for 12 months, to support dietetic care on various medical wards such as our medical high dependency unit, respiratory, orthopaedics and our emergency and assessment unit (EAU).


The ACM dietetics team cover a total of 13 acute medical wards giving exposure to many complex oral feeding and enteral feeding patients, making it a fast pace and diverse caseload.

Our team is supported by a B7 clinical lead, a B6, two B5s and a Dietetic Assistant alongside a project team of 1 B7 and a Band 3.


With a focus on improving flow and patient experience, the successful applicant will be involved in regular team huddles, ward MDTs, NCA wide audits and exciting quality improvement (QI) projects, as we continuously aim to improve nutritional care of the ageing population.

There will be scope to run mini test of change initiatives to enhance experience and leadership in QI.

This role is a unique opportunity to fine tune excellent dietetic practice at a more senior level and to help manage a team with newly qualified dietitians.

It will include an element of data management and project analysis, product knowledge and comparison as well as developing training talks and dissemination to the whole dietetic department and to the wider NCA workforce.

You will also be part of student training with an opportunity to be consolidation supervisor or take on mentorship.

Our strong working relationships with our community team and wider the MDT is a huge benefit to patient care and collaborations with AGE UK and hospital after care teams make this role extremely interesting.


You would also have access to our rotational CPD program alongside task and finish and working groups such as dietetic social media group, specialist eating disorder group, national hydration networks and electronic patient record systems.
