Essential:
- 1 years' experience of working with young people.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent (or 70% complete)
_ As a residential provision this is a 52 week/24-hour service. You will be required to work flexibly to suit the needs of the young people. The core Youth Intervention Coordinator hours of work fall between 8am-8pm on Monday to Friday and 9am-2pm on a Saturday._
Homes2Inspire are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join Belinda Ferrison House.
Homes2Inspire specialise in working with young people and families, and have comprehensive experience in providing specialist, welfare and educational based support, interventions and guidance to children and young people in various settings.
Belinda Ferrison House offers Care-leavers from the ages of 17-25 years, the support and guidance to enable a successful transition into independent living with the care and encouragement of a dedicated staffing team.
This staffing team within Belinda Ferrison House will assess the needs of the young people and assist them with the skills required to live independently, including managing finances, building relationships, and domestic skills.
The role of Senior Youth Intervention Co-Coordinator involves effectively managing and supervising staff at BFH, providing advice, care and stability for the young people ensuring they are treated equally.
You will also be required to:
- Line manage and supervise staff within BFH as required by the Project Service Manager and cascade information so that young people are cared for and supported appropriately in line with the relevant legislative, regulative and standards against inspection framework requirements.
- Demonstrate to the young people the value of education, work, care and development so that they improve behaviour, by being a positive role model.
- Build and create mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and instructions.
- Define structures and boundaries of behaviour to young people, acting as a positive role model, so they understand behaviour expected.
- Control and analyse the young people's behaviour to avoid incidents and maximise positive behaviours.
- Coach, support and develop BFH staff ensuring their performance and potential is maximised to meet the relevant legislative, regulative, company requirements and standards against inspection framework requirements.
- Provide basic advice and life skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills, supporting the young people to live independently.
- Ensure the referrals, assessments, key works and interventions at BFH and in the community are of a high quality and support the Careleaver's progress.
- Support staff in delivering high quality key work sessions, workshops and peer to peer support groups.
- Support the 24 hours, 7 days a week oncall arrangements as required.
