Research Scientist

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist to join the Biotechnology department, more specifically the Synthetic Biology team, who will help deliver these sustainability targets.

During this role you will be developing engineered microbes for new bioprocesses at laboratory and pilot scale. PhD or equivalent experience in synthetic biology, molecular biology, metabolic engineering.
# Strong technical background in strain engineering of microbes (cultivation and genetic manipulation).
# Strong molecular biology skills, including cloning, DNA & RNA manipulation, microorganism transformation.

Experience using modern gene-editing technologies such as CRISPR, and DNA assembly such as Golden-Gate and Gibson.
# Experience in high-throughput screening (DNA combinatorial assembly, enzyme assays, or analytics).
# Previous work experience within the biotechnology or bioindustry sector.
# Proven experience of taking an idea to commercial success.
