Senior Linux System Engineer (m/f/d)

Permanent position, full-time - Cologne Your tasks

• Managing the system administrators within the "Cloud BasedPlatforms" competence team
• The conceptionand further development of our automation and container-basedsolutions
• The planning, development,optimization and implementation of individual system solutions forour business and education customers
• Securing and hardening centralized and decentralized Linux systems
• The monitoring of provided services
• Creating scripts and playbooks forautomation solutions in the server environment
• Advancing digitalization in the education sector
• The willingness to occasionally take part inon-call duty

Your profile

• You have completed training as anIT specialist (or comparable) and have already gained at least 5years of professional experience
• You haveseveral years of experience in the administration and operation ofLinux systems
• You have knowledge ofautomating processes with the help of Ansible or similar tools
• A good technical understanding, a strongservice and solution orientation as well as a structured andcareful way of working characterize you
• Youwork just as well independently as part of a team
  Werequire you to be fluent in written and spoken German

Your experience

Sound knowledge (at least in combination) in the following areas isdesirable:

• Administration of Debian-based Linux distributions in a businessenvironment
• Provision of Platform as aService and Software as a Service
• Setup andoperation of virtual servers on highly available VMware clusters
• Experience in the use of Ansible, Docker,GIT and relational databases
• Monitoring andperformance analysis
• High availabilitycluster
• Network and firewall
• Directory services
