The Procurement Team is responsible for ensuring procurement delivers maximum value for money and achieves legislative compliance through the support and development of best practice which is intrinsically linked to the organisational priorities of the Office of the Police & Fire Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) , North Yorkshire Police (NYP) and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (NYFRS).

Develop and execute strategic plans for commercial contracts to maximise value and mitigate risks.Negotiate, draft and review a variety of complex commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with NYFRS, NYP and OPFCC needs and legal requirements.
You will provide professional advice on technical commercial matters to a portfolio of senior customers to ensure that the capital and revenue budgets are spent in accordance with budget strategies and comply with Financial Regulations, Contract Standing Orders and Procurement legislation to protect the Police Force, Fire Service and the OPFCC from financial and reputational riskManage strategic business critical contracts and develop and lead strategic partnerships with key suppliers to share risks and benefits
Lead and manage complex and strategic organisational procurement projects to ensure their effective delivery in line with customer requirements and timescales.
Develop and deliver procurement savings plans for specific categories in collaboration with the customer ensuring quantifiable cashable efficiencies are identified, prioritised, delivered, and reported.
Develop and improve an efficient and effective purchasing service offering, which is linked to organisational priorities and compliant with legislation, appropriate policies, standing orders, procedures, professional governance and procurement regulations.
You will have a proficient knowledge of Procurement Regulations and its application within the public sector, underpinned by theory and experience, maintaining up to date knowledge of current and impending legislation, assessing addressing any impact on policies and procedures.
Manage contracts and develop and lead partnerships with key suppliers to share risks and benefits.Be qualified to Chartered institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) Level 6 or have an equivalent level of experience.
Previous experience of managing all aspects of high value category management and delivery of quantifiable procurement efficiencies.
Excellent interpretation of Procurement legislation.
IT skills, literate in Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience of contract management and delivering value for money.
