Are you looking for an administrative opportunity, with an element of leadership, supporting our front line healthcare processionals, to deliver outstanding patient care to the children and young people at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust?
We are looking for a Medical Secretary to work as part of the Becton Centre for Children & Young Peoples Inpatient CAMHS Service.
You will be flexible and conscientious, and have the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritising your own work load and meeting deadlines, whilst maintaining high standards.
You will share the Trust values and be committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.30 hours per week, days/hours to be agreed, 12-month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity for applicants with prior agreement from their manager.
To be a Medical Secretary to your aligned lodge.You will provide a comprehensive Medical Secretary service to the multi disciplinary team, to enable them to provide outstanding patient care.
You will be responsible for the day to day administrative support to your lodge and clinical team to ensure the smooth running of the CAMHS Inpatient Service.

Colleagues are encouraged to join these groups and request flexible working.Provide a comprehensive administrative/support service to the consultant psychiatrist and/or senior staff and the clinical team, including typing correspondence, memoranda, reports, emails and other documents using audio and word processing equipment.
Organise and attend in an administrative capacity regular CPA (Care Programme Approach) reviews, Professional meetings, and Care Education Treatment Reviews for CAMHS inpatients, which includes the coordination of diaries for internal/external professionals, parents/carers.
Coordination of (MHA) Mental Health Act paperwork, liaising with the MHA Office.Organise and maintain office systems, such as filing, sending and receiving faxes; Use the electronic patient database system to input, validate and update patient information.
Co-ordinate the trainees attached to the service.Maintain accurate patient records, both paper and electronic, including filing and data input within confidentiality guidelines.
Work within Trust and Directorate policies and procedures.
Negotiate annual leave and use of flexi time with line manager.
Assist in providing support and cover for admin Staff within the directorate during annual leave and sickness, including reception cover.

NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience.
Proof of appropriate continuous professional development
Experience of using a wide range of IT and information systems including Microsoft Office.
Experience of devising and running office based administrative systems and procedures
Experience of working in an Inpatient Mental Health administrative role.
Experience of using Hospital Information Systems.
Experience within a child focussed NHS service.
Experience of having worked to performance targets
Ability to provide a proactive and high quality patient focused service
Previous experience of the patient administration systems ie: SystmOne.
Adaptable, flexible, reliable and willing to undertake new tasks.
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
