Req ID:965- We are looking for a Payroll Assitant to join our HR Team in Peterborough.

As our payroll assistant you will provide a professional and efficient technical service to the wider Bauer Group and internally within the HR team; supporting the monthly process of reporting, benefits and payroll.

You will be the first contact for the HR team on payroll processing and queries.
Our Team


The HR Operations Team are Bauer Media UK's shared service centre providing services around all HR administration, Benefits, HR Systems Support, Benefits and HR Data.

The first stop for all employees or managers to get guidance and support on personal or employment changes for individuals or team members.

We work closely together to provide great customer service for the UK teams.
This role is a hybrid postion. Based in Peterborough you will be expected to work from home and in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support HR admin team on monthly payroll processing
  • Support the Payroll and Benefits Analyst with the Monthly Payroll Checking
  • Supporting with tax and other payroll queries
  • Monitor payroll recalculations i.e. overpayments
  • Upload Monthly Timesheet information
  • Upload Monthly Commission information
  • Upload of monthly data to benefit platform
  • Keying of IR35 staff and related questions
  • Monitor and review daily interface data files from HR system to payroll
  • Support with thirdparty queries from benefit providers
  • Point of contact with outsourced payroll provider managing twoway queries
  • Supporting with Reconciling monthly payroll accounting with Finance team
  • Escalate key system or payroll issues to Payroll and Benefits Analyst
  • Monthly reconciliation of data between HR system and payroll system
  • Manage the monthly payroll timetable and chase relevant parties where needed

What we're looking for


We are looking for someone with great attention to detail, problem solving skills, analytical thinker, collaborative team worker and great time management.

Payroll experience is desirable but not essential.
