    Description
    Principal Engineer Highways & Traffic

    We are currently working with a busy London borough with their search for a Principal Engineer in Highways & Traffic.



    What you will be doing:

    • To carry out the duties of a Principal Engineer in the design and delivery of a wide range of highways design, traffic engineering and traffic management projects.
    • Act as a technical lead and project manager for a portfolio of schemes and programmes of work.
    • Work closely with the Highways Contracts & Delivery team to ensure the deliverability, value for money and feasibility of schemes.
    • Manage the whole delivery process for schemes, from inception through to construction in close collaboration with contractors and highways contracts management officers.
    • Ensure early contractor involvement in the delivery of schemes and best value engineering solutions.
    • Respond to various customer enquiries, investigating complaints and providing expert high-quality advice and reports relating to highways and traffic issues
    Previous experience in Highways is essential for this role.
