    Job Description

    TRT World's News Department is looking for a Script Editor in İstanbul-Türkiye and London branches. Candidates will be hired for these two locations separately.

    The Script Editor oversees a team of editors and provides guidance across the network on the implementation of the broadcaster's style guide. The job requires a close, collaborative relationship with the on-duty executive producer and correspondents in the field. The script editor will liaise with programme editors, deputy news editors and output producers as they prepare the rundown for each newscast.

    Job Description

    · Subbing scripts from the field,

    · Copy editing in-house packages, full-frame graphics and video graphics,

    · Monitoring the news rundown, which includes ulays, straps, tickers, etc,

    · Work closely with the executive producer, to ensure scripts are balanced, clear and accurate,

    · Understand the demands of the newsgathering team and stays abreast of editorial priorities and developments,

    · Ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy for the channel's content and style,

    · Oversee the updating of the style guide, while making agreed-to amendments as necessary.

    Qualifications

    · University degree in Journalism or related field,

    · Minimum 5 years of experience in Television sector,

    · Excellent writing skills,

    · Accuracy and attention to detail,

    · Extensive experience in television news at a senior level,

    · A willingness to mentor developing writers,

    · Excellent interpersonal/communications skills,

    · Strong editorial judgment,

    · Previous experience in a large national or international broadcast news channel,

    · Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, science and the arts,

    · Willingness to work shifts and irregular hours,

    · Knowladge digital, social media, video and content research,

    · High level of proficiency in English,

    · Willing to relocate to İstanbul, Turkiye or London.
