Graduate Energy Trader
Location - Cheltenham (Central). You must be able to reliably commute to Cheltenham for this role.


Who are we?
Noriker Power specialise in agile power systems vital for grid stability and flexible energy solutions.

As an end to end provider of battery solutions with over 300MW of advanced battery facilities, we are always looking to optimise those assets.

A key part of this is our team of Graduate Energy Traders.


Who are you?
You are a graduate in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent real-world experience.

Not only do you thrive in a fast paced environment, you relish the opportunity to work in one You will get excited at the prospect of actively and profitably trading electricity and power derivatives across markets.


On top of this you will:

  • Have over a year's commercial experience in the UK energy markets, ideally as a trader or analyst (but don't let that stop you applying)
  • Be comfortable with using Excel or programming languages (e.g. Python) to interpret large datasets.
  • Have excellent analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Be genuinely passionate about starting your career in the trading industry.
  • Be extremely organised, being able to work in a fastpaced environment to tight deadlines.

What will you do?

  • You'll actively trade on the UK power market, making buy and sell decisions to generate P&L
  • Analyse the UK power market and operation of the national grid balancing actions in real time
  • Help implement and test expert advisory and automatic trading software
  • Keep updated on industry bestpractice and developments, as well as regulations and emerging trends in the power market

What is our interview process?

  • All of our CVs are reviewed by the people in the recruitment team
  • If there's a match, we'll invite you for a 30 min screening call to allow us to get to know each other better
  • The next stage is an inperson interview with a leader from the Trading and Analytics team and Senior management, we may ask you to prepare something for this one too
  • We'll try and get all of this done within 3 weeks
