    Applicants both with airway skills/previous anaesthetic experience are invited for this post at senior level.

    Main duties of the job

  • This Senior Clinical Fellow post would suit applicants with previous experience in critical care medicine and training in any acute specialty seeking to enhance this experience at a higher level of training.
  • Proficiency in anaesthesia/airway management is highly desirable but not essential.
  • The post is for six months in the first instance but may be extended.
  • This position is 50% clinical, 50% non-clinical. This post is suitable for senior trainees wishing to undertake an out-of-programme experience or those who have completed their training but desire additional experience prior to consultant appointment.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
  • FRCA Fellowship of Royal College of Anaesthetists (GB) or equivalent higher specialist qualifications in Anaesthetics.
  • Demonstrable experience and training in anaesthesia, appropriate to StR 6+ in Anaesthetics (pre or post CCT)
  • Desirable

  • Evidence of instructor status for ALS/ other life support training
  • Knowledge and Experience

    Essential

  • Understanding of principles of QI.
  • Audit experience.
  • Demonstrable enthusiasm for teaching.
  • Desirable

  • Previous experience in Patient Safety projects
  • Previous experience in QI / research projects
  • Previous experience in delivering simulation training
  • Record of QI / research in the field of anaesthesia or patient safety
  • Experience in management of high risk surgical patients
  • Experience in advanced airway anaesthesia techniques.
