    Job Description Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager - P/T 3 days per week

    My Client are a well established, family run, Main Contractor in the Refurbishment, Fit Out & Maintenance sectors.

    The company has a reputation for excellence, providing a very personal and dedicated service to it's clients, which sets them apart in their field.


    Main purpose of job:

    Due to pending retirement of their current HSE Manager, the company need to recruit a new Lead competent person for HSE, ensuring full compliance with current HSE legislation and approved codes of practice and guidance.

    Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of HSE legislation and best practice.

    Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming HSE legislation and ensure that the systems and practices are in place to meet legal compliance.

    Advise the management team on the implications of current and emerging HSE legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance.

    Work proactively with all staff to establish and maintain systems that promote a culture of safe working practices, leading and managing a culture of health and safety and mitigation of risks.

    Provide HSE advice, training, guidance and support to all levels within the organisation

    Demonstrate enthusiasm and leadership across the area of HSE creating a positive culture driving down accidents and raising awareness.

    Assist in the identification and delivery of employee training needs for the effective management of health, safety and risk.

    Carry out routine inspections and audits to ensure that HSE procedures are being adhered to across all areas, ensuring appropriate feedback and actions are being taken to mitigate against risk.

    Undertake reviews of HSE documents, including method statements, risk & COSHH assessments.
    Set up & chair HSE representative meetings as per statutory requirements.

    Manage accident and incident data and investigate circumstances and causes of accidents / incidents, including taking necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.

    Coordinate& liaise with external safety, health & environmental organisations including enforcing authorities as necessary.
