We are seeking to recruit a Head of Psychological Services – Adult Mental Health for Clackmannanshire & Stirling Health & Social Care Partnership's Mental Health & Learning Disability Services.
Mental Health & Learning Disability (MHLD) Services in Forth Valley are a welcoming and forward-thinking place to work, and we place a real emphasis on staff wellbeing at all levels of the organisation.
This post provides both clinical leadership and operational management of the adult mental health teams within Forth Valley's Psychological Services.
This covers a range of services, including the provision of digital, group and individual interventions. There are two main teams within adult mental health - Adult Psychological Therapies and Secondary Care Psychology.The Adult Psychological Therapies team work with people generally referred from primary care, and the Secondary Care Psychology team are embedded within Integrated Community Mental Health Teams and inpatient units across Forth Valley.
The postholder will also, via a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, provide professional support to the psychologists and psychological therapists employed within Occupational Health.
There are several specialties in addition to Adult Mental Health – Clinical Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, Older Adults, Learning Disabilities, Substance Use, Forensic Clinical Psychology (including prisons) and Arts Therapies.
There are also close links with the multi-disciplinary Eating Disorders service and Psychotherapy.We are a multi-disciplinary service employing clinical & counselling psychologists, nurse therapists, psychological therapists, art and music therapists, clinical associates in applied psychology and assistant psychologists – taking a multi-disciplinary approach to the delivery of psychological therapies and services is absolutely central to the departmental ethos.
The postholder will join the well established Psychological Services Management Group, which consists of all the Heads of Service/Consultants.
Along with the Director of Psychological Services, the other two Heads of Psychological Specialities and the Business Support Manager, they will also be part of the Psychological Services Senior Management Team.
Making sure that all staff, including senior managers, feel well supported in their role, is really important to the service, and the postholder will have many opportunities with their colleagues for support, learning and even just a chatPsychological Services are well represented within the wider Mental Health & Learning Disability Services, with representation on the MHLD Senior Leadership Team and the Clacks & Stirling HSCP Senior Management Team.
There are close working relationships between the Director of Psychological Services, Head of MH Nursing, Lead MH AHP and Associate Medical Director for Psychiatry.
All of this contributes to an environment where Psychological Services are valued as an integral part of the health and social care system.
Continuing professional development and staff support are central to our service, and opportunities for both are widely available.Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service deliveryis essential for this post.
