Description
As Team Leader you will be a self-motivated, pro-active individual with both excellent time management and organisational skills.

You will lead the medical imaging team to provide high quality Diagnostic Imaging Services at Moorfields' including the Trust's satellite and Virtual Clinics, Private Patients and Richard Desmond Children's Eye Centre (RDCEC)The role encompasses supporting junior staff to develop skills and help to embed a continuous quality improvement culture across the service.

The postholder will act as an exemplar and professional role-model in embracing core values ofcaring, organised, excellent and inclusive.

As a team leader you will work both clinically and managerially to undertake day to day supervision of the team working with the Head of Department to ensure safe staffing across all sites.


PROBATIONARY PERIOD


During the probationary period, your suitability for continued employment will be assessed and provided a satisfactory standard is achieved and maintained, your employment will be confirmed.

The probationary period may be extended or your employment terminated either during or at the end of probation, in line with the trust Probationary Policy.

For the duration of the probation period, the notice period will be in line with contractual obligations on either side.


LEADERSHIP
To lead manage and motivate imaging staff, ensuring appropriate management structures, policies and practices are in place to achieve high levels of performance, working alongside theHead of Imaging & Ultrasound to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective imaging care


Medical Imaging is managed across two sites and therefore it is integral the Team Leader provides strong leadership and applies fair and consistent management across the two sites.


MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


The post-holder will need to ensure people management is effectively managed and in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures, seeking advice and support as necessary, as the position will directly manage the Team Leaders at the Hoxton Virtual Hub.

Thus it is vital there is effective and transparent communication at all times.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring Imaging services are focused on the needs of patient whilst maintaininga learning environment when sharing Datix related concerns which will encourage ongoing education and awareness.

Trust Policies and procedures


The post-holder will be required to comply with all policies and procedures issued by and on behalf of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

If the post-holder is required to work at other organisations premises, they must adhere to the specific policies relating to the premises in which they work.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


LEADERSHIP
Lead, manage and motivate imaging staff, ensuring appropriate management structures, policies and practices are in place to achieve high levels of performance

  • Work with the Head of Imaging & Ultrasound to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective imaging care
  • Troubleshoot and escalate any capacity and demand concerns to Head of Imaging & Ultrasound
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with other stakeholders to effectively manage the day to day running of Service

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure people management is effectively managed and in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures, seeking advice and support as necessary, including:

  • Provide management and Leadership to Medical Imaging both at City Road and Hoxton Virtual Hub
  • Providing daytoday expertise, guidance, and instruction to the imaging team
  • Recruit and induct new members of staff, including training with regard to trust/ department/specialty policies and procedures
  • Monitoring, reporting and management of sickness absence in line with Trust Policy and Procedure
  • Coordinate annual leave ensuring this is fairly distributed and service provision is maintained
  • Oversight of all statutory training and ensure all imaging staff are fully compliant
  • Ensuring there are one to one meetings, organised for all staff
