This post provides an opportunity to pursue a diverse specialist community paediatric post, without any on call commitment in an award winning hospital covering a large geographical area between the spectacular Yorkshire Dales and the cosmopolitan centres of Bradford and Leeds.


The successful applicant will join a well established team of community paediatricians and therapists who take pride in working effectively together to provide the best care for children and young people accessing the service.

To provide

  • A point of referral for children, throughout the age range, presenting with developmental difficulties or health problems having an impact on their education and social wellbeing.
  • Assessment and diagnosis for children who may have developmental disability and for neurodevelopmental disorders in children under the age of 7 years
  • Long term followup of children with disabilities
  • Medical advice relating to children with special educational needs known to the service
  • To contribute to assessment of vulnerable children including safeguarding medicals and initial health assessments for children entering care.
  • To take an active role in the development of Community Paediatric services, including the development of service standards and protocols, and to have an active commitment to audit.
