    Jnr Sous Chef - Independent Pub & Brewery - Salary Neg (DOE)

    We have an exciting opportunity to join as a Jnr Sous chef at the Jolly Coopers in Epsom. We are looking for an ambitious and creative Jnr Sous with previous experience in fresh food delivery to support the Head Chef in the day to day running of this independent brew pub.

    We are a fully independent run business with strong ethical values, a healthy ambition for success and supports the personal development of our team. We are currently searching for individuals with a passion for hospitality, great service and a guest focused attitude, to deliver nothing but excellence to all our guests

    We are a small kitchen team servicing a 45-cover pub restaurant plus 80 outdoors. We are committed to developing a menu of locally sourced produce where everything is made fresh on site.

    What you will do:

    • Support the Head Chef in day to day operations.
    • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of consistent, quality and innovative dishes and implementation of high quality daily specials.
    • Help to drive innovation and create a culture of menu development whilst still delivering of simple and classic favourites.
    • Both guest and team experience will be at the heart of all you do. You'll lead your team by example, keeping them involved and motivated.

    What are we looking for?

    The perfect candidate will be self motivated, dedicated and be able to mentor the junior members within the kitchen.

    • Previous experience as a Chef working in a fresh food site.
    • A team player – we thrive on communication and working with each other.
    • Good awareness of trends and seasonality of produce - we care about our ingredients and the dishes we produce.
    • Proven experience in working in either a fresh food pub or restaurant and a real passion and drive to produce the best.
    • Excellent cooking skills, service standards and hygiene.
    • A highly creative and pro-active approach to your work with excellent attention to detail.
    • A strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety, compliance and procedures.
    • Will ideally have access to their own transport.
