Head of Financial Control - Series B AI Startup - London

Remote

£100,000 - £120,000 + equity + benefits.

TalentEdge are currently exclusively a rapidly growing remote AI business leading the charge in innovation. They are on the lookout for a talented and dynamic Head of Financial Control to join the team as the second in finance, playing a pivotal role in their continued success and growth.

The business is at the forefront of revolutionising the AI landscape, harnessing cutting-edge technologies to drive impactful solutions. Having raised significant Series-B funding, they are experiencing rapid growth and are poised for even greater achievements in the near future.

Role Overview: As the Head of Financial Control, you'll take the reins in shaping and driving the financial control function of the organisation. This is a technically focused role where you'll leverage your expertise to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll play a key role in guiding strategic decision-making and supporting ambitious growth trajectory, whilst also rolling your sleeves up and getting involved in a typical startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage robust financial control processes and procedures to safeguard financial integrity.
• Oversee financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Drive efficiency and optimisation initiatives within the finance function to support our rapid growth and scalability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organisation to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in accounting and finance, providing guidance and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.
• Previous experience in a technically focused finance role, preferably within a high-growth startup or technology company.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, regulatory compliance, and accounting standards.
• Strong US experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
