    A superb job opportunity has arisen within Birmingham City Council's Environmental Protection team (Environmental Health).

    We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Environmental Protection / Health Officer to join our Environmental Protection team.

    Successful candidates will be responsible for enforcing a wide range of legislation and providing advice in line with Council policy and government requirements.

    Duties will cover the full range of environmental protection subject areas but will primarily involve environmental permitting, assessing the environmental merits of planning applications, responding to applications under the Licensing Act 2003 and statutory nuisance / clean air related investigations.

    Duties may also involve strategic work around local air quality management and the contaminated land regime.
    Additional, technical qualifications are an advantage especially within the field of acoustics and noise control.
    Driving license and own vehicle is essential to the role.

    The service has moved to a more agile model of working and as such the role will involve mobile working from an administrative base situated on the city centre ring road.
