    Description

    Job Summary

    The focus of NHS Long Term Plan is to provide more integrated, personalized and place-based care by creating multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Hubs like in Milton Keynes. This position is part of the Therapies pathway within the Milton Keynes Hub, delivering specialized care to the local population. The Hub comprises Therapy, Psychosocial, and Diagnosis & Condition Management pathways.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide specialized psychological/therapeutic assessments for service-users referred to the Therapies pathway.
    • Collaborate with pathway leads and other mental health service areas in Milton Keynes.
    • Develop and implement brief and long-term psychological interventions for service users.
    • Evaluate team effectiveness in reducing hospital admissions and length of stay.
    • Supervise colleagues and assist in their professional development where needed.
    • Cultivate a psychological treatment philosophy among mental health workers.

    Experience

    Essential

    • Specialist psychological assessment experience, especially with trauma presentations.
    • Working with individuals with complex mental health issues, including trauma and personality disorders.
    • Experience in teaching, training, and supervision.
    • Group work skills.
    • NHS community mental health settings experience in secondary and tertiary care.

    Skills and Knowledge

    Essential

    • Complex psychological assessment methods.
    • Specialized psychological assessment and intervention knowledge for individuals with mental health issues.
    • Understanding of legislation and NICE guidance for this client group.

    Other

    Essential

    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various locations.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Clinical psychology doctoral training with BPS/HCPC accreditation in psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, and multiple psychological therapies.
    • Research methodology and staff training qualifications.
