    L3 IT Infrastructure & Network EngineerCirca £50, % BonusNorth Leeds, Flexible WorkingMy client needs to fill an immediate vacancy for an individual who can assist in keeping all of their core systems running.

    You will be one of a global technical team and your primary role will be looking after their data centre environments.

    The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of technical skills and experience, but will have an appetite for learning and a desire to improve themselves and our environment that they work in.


    KEY RESPONSILBITIES AND TASKS:
    Build and deployment of additional equipment into existing data centresResponding to tickets, troubleshooting issuesPerformance monitoring and troubleshootingNetwork switch cable patching and configurationFirewall and VPN configuration and troubleshootingHypervisor monitoring and administrationConfiguring network and compute components for new customer deploymentsDevelop and maintain internal documentation


    KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:


    The ideal candidate will be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to achieving great results, they will ideally have cross section of the following job specific skills, attributes and experience:Excellent attention to detail, with a desire to do a job correctly first time, every time.

    A balanced approach to risk, ensuring we get tasks complete, even under pressure, but without unnecessary risk to live service.

    Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills; tactful, diplomatic and sympathetic when dealing with any customer problems and showing empathy with customer issues.

    Strong analytical skills.
    Proactive and forward-thinking approach.
    Confident with the ability to interact with members of all technical teams including team leaders, managers and directors.
    Experience in troubleshooting technical problems in a methodical manner arriving promptly at a solid conclusion.
    An eye for detail, preventing any tickets from breaching SLA's and the tenacity to ensure others adhere to processes.
    A willingness to learn and not be afraid to get involved in unfamiliar areas of technology.


    DESIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:


    Whilst we don't expect you to be an expert in all areas, an interest and willingness to expand your technical knowledge in these areas is required.

    The successful candidate will already hold at least some experience in a few of the following areas:

    Technical problem troubleshootingPerformance troubleshooting for compute, network or storage bottlenecksA solid grasp of IP and subnettingAn understanding of ethernet, switching, cabling and patching.

    Experience in an environment where security and network protection are keyInstallation, configuration or administration of:
