    UCL's Advancement team is responsible for generating the university's philanthropic income.

    Having closed a successful £624m campaign in 2020, Advancement are now launching a £1bn fundraising campaign to celebrate the 200th anniversary of UCL in 2026.

    Diversifying income - including growing philanthropic income - is integral to UCL's financial strategy.

    Working closely with the Advancement team, this job is based in the central Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, reporting to the Head of Financial Strategy.

    As the Head of Finance (Philanthropy and Endowments), you will play a key role in setting the foundations for the campaign, representing a career defining opportunity for the right candidate.

    Lead financial planning for philanthropy, to shape and plan how we generate and account for philanthropic income


    • Implement regular delivery of consistent management information
    • Develop financial policies and recommendations in relation to philanthropy
    • Ensure alignment between Advancement's ambitions and UCL's wider financial strategy
    • Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in Finance and Advancement This role will be truly cross cutting, working with Senior Leadership across UCL, to support the growth of philanthropy as an increasingly important income stream to UCL
    For this role, we are looking for a fully qualified accountant with significant financial planning and policy experience.

    You must have a track record of providing strategic financial partnership to senior leaders, and experience delivering financial analysis and reporting to non-finance staff.

    You must be able to demonstrate experience developing and implementing financial policy.

    Experience working in the HE sector is desirable, but training and induction will be available for the right candidate looking to move into this sector.
