Description

Intelligent Resource is currently working in partnership with a public sector client in the UK to recruit a Procurement Category Manager based in Bedford, the role is a fixed term contract for one year.

Key Activities:

Identifying, reporting, and delivering opportunities for savings and cost reduction
Optimising organisations commercial position through effective contracting and negotiation
Providing advice and guidance on risk management related to contracting and procurement
Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop strong relationships.
Promoting effective supplier relationship management
Developing a category management approach to an assigned area of responsibility

Education/ Knowledge / Experience

Experience in managing strategic sourcing programme in line with Standing Financial Instructions, EU Procurement Directives and UK Legislation
Qualified in Procurement (MCIPS) or equivalent.
Have experience in public sector procurement /contracting/ supply chain environment.
Have relevant experience running procurement under OJEU / FTS requirements.
Ability to manage multiple contracts to ensure best value for money and high service levels.
Have specialist knowledge in at least one area or category (Fleet, Estates, Consumables, etc.).
Have a demonstrable track record of delivering cash releasing savings and experience of negotiating commercial contracts.
