£32,000 - £37,000 + potential bonus

We are looking for an experienced
Mechanical Test Engineer who is required to join a large, well-established company based in
Buckingham on a
permanent basis, paying up to
£37,000 per annum dependant on experience.

Our client is a world leading automotive supply chain business operating in over 24 countries.


As an
Mechanical Test Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of conceptual fuel injection test solutions from concept through to completion.


MECHANICAL TEST ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Implement / repeat test criteria and analyse the results to suggest potential product improvements, working with all other engineering functions.
  • Lead injector test plan development work to support aftermarket customers.
  • Support technicians to give guidance and help problemsolving.
  • Support resolution of problems from the field by replicating internally; investigate and resolve in timely manner.
  • Generate / maintain technical documentations master data control, technical instruction, commissioning spec, etc.
  • Lead with compliance to Internal Control requirements, Accounting/Financial legal requirements and perform successfully internal and external audits.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THE MECHANICAL TEST ENGINEER:

  • Understanding of Diesel Fuel Injection systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to write, update and develop technical specifications.
  • Methodical, analytical, and detailed approach to investigating quality issues.
  • 3 years + experience working within an R&D proof of concept environment.
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis.
  • Ability to ready technical drawings and basic CAS
  • CMM (manual) operational experience together with operational experience of handheld precision measurement apparatus


  • Microsoft Office

  • Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE MECHANICAL TEST ENGINEER:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a suitable engineering discipline
  • 35 years of validation experience and data analysis within R&D project team environment
