Business Development Manager

Experienced Business Development Manager sought for growing successful Telecoms company, to be the first BDM in the role and manage the full sales cycle.

No experience in Telecoms is needed but you must have experience in closing sales in an SME marketplace.
Training on all the services will be provided. This is a new business role, not account management.

As the BDM you will manage your own diary and be in control of setting your own appointments, planning work, research, processing, admin etc.

The client is highly flexible around the days you choose to go into the office.

Our client want's someone who has aproven track record in developing new business, a consultative salesperson who can upsell, naturally building a package of services that the client needs.

This role would require you to work around the M62 corridor, Yorkshire, and Northwest.
Salary & Benefits

Basic pay:
£30,000 - £36,000

OTE earnings (commission capped at 120% basic pay)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Core hours are between 9am-5pm, but flexibility is given.
Holidays: 25 days, plus birthday, plus bank holidays.
Skills & Experience

  • Experience of managing the full sales cycle
  • Experience closing sales in an SME marketplace
  • Experience of upselling and building packages that suit the client needs
  • Consultative sales experience
  • Telecoms experience (desirable)
The Business Development Manager role

  • Engaging with new and existing prospects.
  • Upselling and crossselling to all clients
  • Generating and closing new business within a small business environment
  • Working with MD and Technical Director to assist with networking events, conferences, and meetings
  • Working with Technical Director to qualify leads for larger scale projects
  • Working with Technical Director to present and win larger scale projects (£10k+)
  • Targeting subscription areas of the business to generate income over a multiyear timeline
  • Building a successful referral base by using, and improving, current referral scheme
  • Updating all client information Including:
  • Entering all new prospect lead information.
  • Keeping client information up to date.
  • Deleting old/defunct records.
  • Working with internal marketing assistant and external marketing partners to generate required collateral
  • Working with internal marketing assistant to track, test, and measure success
  • Working with internal marketing assistant, and external partners to ensure lead generation
  • Keeping track of competitor pricing
  • Working with other team members to help generate regular reporting on pipeline and forecasting for the following quarters
  • Weekly and monthly sales meetings to discuss and set targets.
  • Handover meetings to pass business won on to the relevant department/person.
  • Regular monthly review meetings
  • Managing calendar including scheduling meetings, call backs, and events
  • Working with the MD to set priorities, goals, and targets
  • Working with MD to review and set commissionbased targets each quarter
