We are currently recruiting for a Claims Adjuster to join our established and experienced Professional and Financial Risk claims team here at RSA working on a hybrid basis from either our Glasgow or Horsham office 3 days per week.


Your role
As our Claims Adjuster, you will handle and negotiate the settlement of Professional Indemnity and Financial Risks claims in collaboration with colleagues and working closely with external legal panel firms, brokers and our customers


Your responsibilities will include handling Professional and Financial Risks claims in accordance with your claims license authority, achieving agreed-upon performance targets and delivering excellent customer service within agreed SLA's.


The team is based in our Glasgow office or in Horsham, West Sussex, so access to either of these locations would be necessary.


About you
You will be highly literate with excellent communication and negotiation skills and take personal responsibility for your development.

You will have the ability to manage your own work and be able to work successfully within a team environment.

Formal qualifications obtained through ACII and /or relevant degree are preferred, however, experience and ambition is regarded equally important.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and evaluate insurance claims
  • Analyze policy coverage and determine claim eligibility
  • Gather and review relevant documentation, such as police reports, medical records, and witness statements
  • Interview claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information
  • Determine the extent of liability and negotiate settlements with claimants or their representatives
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of claims payments
  • Maintain detailed records of claim investigations and settlements
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as legal or medical professionals, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in claims adjusting or a related field is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in clerical tasks, such as data entry and record keeping
  • Knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
