Excellent opportunity for Oracle Database Administrator to be part of our Infrastructure services practice. Cognizant Infrastructure Services – Provides IT infrastructure & Cloud services for clients across industry verticals, including both Consulting/Professional and Managed Services, across Enterprise Computing, Cloud services, DevOps, Data Centers, End User Computing, Service Desk, Network Services, and Environment Management Services.

The candidate must either have, or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oracle Database Administration.
• Troubleshooting and being able to mentor database sp ecialists and handle Escalated calls.
• Analyze enterprise business context (trends and business strategy), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture (EA) viewpoints, to derive the enterprise infrastructure architecture future state.
• Defining the requirements, principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise.
• Define high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state, typically in sync with the IT budgeting or other capital planning processes.
• Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
• In addition, lead the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise as well as on the enterprise infrastructure architecture.
• Assist with designing the governance activities associated with ensuring enterprise infrastructure architecture compliance.
• Oversee or consult on technology implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new or shared infrastructure solutions.
• Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure with the enterprise infrastructure architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise infrastructure architecture to accommodate immediate or future project needs.
• Oversee and facilitate the research
• Maintain and enhance the database license tracking solution, which is a subset of the DBR.

Key Skills and Experience :

• Oracle DBA Administration skills
• Analyzing and advising on capacity planning based on transaction volumes and growth
• Planning and implementation of Backup and recovery procedures
• Troubleshooting correction for bugs and performance tuning.
• Must have worked on very large production database environments.
• Must have comprehensive and expert knowledge of Oracle database architecture and software products, including a detailed knowledge of Oracle internals and database recovery techniques.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure and Experience in handling Enterprise System Management tools (CMDB, Patch Management, etc.)
• Oracle Database Management tools like OEM, Quest etc.
