    We are excited to be partnering with an exciting materials start-up in their search for a forward-thinking Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

    This pivotal role lies at the core of the company's vision, requiring an individual with a strong background in material science or polymer chemistry, and an understanding in leveraging machine learning for material R&D.

    They are happy to consider those operating at a slightly more junior level who are looking to take a step up.

    As the CTO, you'll play a key role in steering the team towards pioneering advancements in sustainable material innovation.
    Lead all of the technical strategy, development, and innovation, focusing on sustainable materials.

    • Guide the company's transformation in harnessing machine learning for the exploration of new material composition and the enhancement of manufacturing processes, aiming to accelerate development.
    • Align the company patent portfolio with the company's commercial goals and plan for key IP protection to further increase our position in the relevant market.
    • Lead in person conversation and factorysite visits at manufacturing partners facilities in Asia, Europe and the US.

    PhD (or equivalent technical expertise from previous commercial development roles) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field, with 3-5 years experience in polymer processing and development.

    Experience or understanding of applying Machine Learning for either the material discovery phase or manufacturing process optimisation.

    Proven leadership, ideally in a startup environment or at an innovation arm of a larger corporation, with roles such as Tech Lead, Head of Tech/Science, or CTO.

    Strong vision for innovation and sustainability in material science.

    Applicants must be based in or willing to relocate to London and have the right to work in the UK prior to application.
