Technical Lead (Customer Experience)
Can you lead the tech solutions which help our customers to rescue fresh fruit and veg at risk of going to waste? Do you have experience of being a key contributor to a wide-reaching software engineering strategy?
The Role
We're on the lookout for a hands-on tech lead who will help us to deliver a great eCommerce experience to our customers.
You'll work closely with your counterparts in the product and engineering teams to define the experience team roadmap. You will also work closely with the Head of Engineering as a key contributor to our overall technical roadmap
You'll take an active role in our in-flight and new projects
Work collaboratively with a team of software engineers to identify & prioritise improvements
You'll take a solution-focused approach to understand our software systems, the lifecycle of an Oddbox order and our customers.
Mentor and collaborate with software teams on code review, version control, architecture, pair programming and software design
You'll be a key contributor on complex software projects, working in agile sprints
What we're looking for
As one of our Tech Leads, you'll combine your experience in backend software engineering (we use Python) with the ability to support, coach and inspire those around you.
Pragmatic
- you have a good understanding of how to balance priorities and manage short and long term objectives to deliver software solutions
You are curious - you are problem-led and want to understand the domain and requirements to inform solutions.
Collaborative - you can work independently but know when to bring certain discussions and decisions to the wider group.
You love to learn new things and enjoy testing new ideas
Other details:
Start date - ASAP
Duration of role - permanent, full-time
Location - Hybrid-On average, you'll spend one day each week in our Vauxhall office, working with other Oddboxers and seeking out the low-hanging fruit.
You'll need to visit our distribution centre in Croydon and packing facility in Birmingham a couple of times each year.
