    We have anexciting opportunity to become a vital part of Derbyshire Mind's Senior ManagementTeam as Finance Manager,providing effective financial leadership and management in line with ourstrategy and values.

    The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial strategic direction of Derbyshire Mind, as well as the overall management, development anddelivery of the Finance function.

    They manage all IT related contracts for Derbyshire Mind and lead the ITfunction, supported by the Senior Administrator.
    DerbyshireMind is a local independent mental health charity within the Mind federation.
    Our focus is on improving mental health and wellbeing for people across Derbyand Derbyshire.

    We provide a range of community mental health and wellbeingservices designed to support people with mental health problems as well as thewider population.

    The key roles and responsibilities of the Finance Manager are:

    (*Working alongside the Board andChief Executive to set financial strategy
    Providing financial informationand insight to support Derbyshire Minds development
    Maintaining all operationalmanagement systems and records relating to finance
    Leading the IT and informationgovernance/data protection functions
    Leading the implementation ofpayroll on a monthly basis
    Attending Board meetings asrequired and being an active member of the Finance Sub-Committee
    A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA, and/or at least three years experience in a financial management role.

    Experience of implementing and maintaining effective financial management systems in an organisation of similar scope.
    Experience of preparing budgets, management accounts, financial reports, and service model costings for tender bids.
    Experience of managing and implementing payroll.
    Thorough knowledge of financial management, legislation and financial accounting principles and procedures.
    Working knowledge of IT and the principles of information governance/data protection.
    Flexible in approach and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.

    Strong IT skills, including in the use of Microsoft Office, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (such as SAGE).

    Excellent numeracy, literacy and report writing skills, with attention to detail.

    Ability to communicate financial information, both verbally and in writing, in an effective and accessible way with staff and external agencies or partners.

    Means of transport to regularly attend our Derby office and occasional meetings across Derbyshire to fulfil the requirements of the role.
