    Hours:
    40 hours, Monday - Friday. This role is office and site based

    As a Construction Carbon Manager at London Gatwick, you'll be a pivotal part of London Gatwick's journey towards Net Zero.

    The airport is committed to Net Zero direct emissions by a very ambitious objective, driven by our shareholders and with the full backing of our business.

    This role will help tackle the indirect and construction related emissions, further demonstrating that commitment to sustainability across all aspects of its operations and growth.

    establishing standards and direction across £multi-million projects. Reporting into the Construction Sustainability Lead, you'll be the lead expert on reducing carbon across construction projects at Gatwick.

    Keeping track of the latest innovations and trends in the industry, you'll advise teams across our business, ensuring our projects are better for the environment and helping us to achieve our strategic carbon reduction goals.


    At Gatwick you will have the opportunity and autonomy to work in a live environment, and make tangible differences to the how construction project are delivered in the future.


    Developing, maintaining and delivering a robust carbon management system, certified to PAS2080:2023, enhancing and improving the existing project governance framework.

    Engaging relevant stakeholders and driving improvements within project delivery.

    Supporting the wider construction and development team, providing training and upskill opportunities to widen sustainability understanding and delivery within each individual role.

    Providing technical input into scope documents & requirements, followed by review of, and assurance against, carbon (GHG) assessments and related deliverables provided by designers and contractors.

    Managing the implementation of the 'Carbon Reduction Roadmap for Construction Projects' and associated actions and projects, developments and improvements from inception to completion.


    The live environment at London Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, with problem solving skills and an innovative outlook.

    Involved in projects from inception to completion you will work alongside multiple stakeholders. You'll be able to demonstrate robust carbon/GHG technical skills including the compilation of bespoke models / tools and emission inventories and associated experience in carbon accounting and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

    Examples could include decarbonisation over the life cycle of projects, resource efficiency, circular economy, design for durability, deconstruction and re-use, sustainability and low carbon materials, renewable energy & alternative fuels, sustainable solutions
