    Who we are:
    MakeSense is a robotics start-up from Imperial College London building a new product to guide vision impaired people. Based on breakthrough research, MakeSense has discovered and patented the world's most effective haptic interface for communicating direction. We are pairing this interface with AR to build a pocket-sized digital guide dog. The team is currently 6 strong, and we are raising £4M to bring our first product to market.

    Working at MakeSense will give you the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art robotics problems in the haptics & localisation fields and make a product which has the potential to help blind people globally.


    In this role you will:
    Write, review, and advocate for robust, maintainable code with extensibility in mind.
    Play a pivotal role in software architecture across the stack.
    Pair program with other engineers, making everyone around you better.
    Identify skills gaps and help build out the team.
    Work closely with hardware, UX, regulatory, and other departments to solve problems.

    Take initiative and fight through ambiguity to get stuff doneWhat We're Looking For5+ years of industry experience with expertise in software development.

    Broad knowledge of development & experience working with all roles in a software team.
    Strong software engineering background, with advanced understanding of software architecture, design principles, data structures and algorithms.

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal).Self-motivated and willing to work long hours to help build a business.


    Desirable Experience:
    Experience working in an Agile team.
    Mobile app development (preferably Swift).Strong mathematics background.
