Clinical Site Team Practitioner

Band 7

1 yr. fixed term - Maternity leave cover

Full shift pattern across 24/7 plus bank holidays etc.

Full time 37.5hrs a week

We are looking for a dynamic practitioner who can multi-task, make high level decisions & demonstrate excellent people skills.

Within the role you will be managing the Children's Hospital on a rotational basis - this involves decisions about bed usage, staffing ratios, managing all emergency & elective admissions to the hospital.


Applicants are required to be RSCN or RN-Part 15 (Child Branch), & ideally to have a post-registration qualification in a related acute paediatric field as well as experience as a Band 6 or 7.

Have excellent communication skills, proven clinical skills together with organisational & management expertise and be able to multi-task.


Interviews week commencing 24th July 202- Be an expert clinical practitioner, demonstrating skills in clinical examination and patient assessment throughout all clinical areas within BRHC.


  • Expertly participate in the management of the haemodynamically unstable child, providing respiratory and vital organ support at an advanced level.
  • Utilise clinical assessment expertise and skills to strategically think through a plan of nursing management with ward staff and team members.
  • Provide clinical advice to staff on pain relief out of hours e.g. use of PCA's, epidural care etc
  • Ensure that nursing practice is in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines, the NMC Code of Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice and appropriately refer concerns to senior Clinical Site Team Nurses (CST).
