Senior Occupational Therapist
We are looking for an exceptional, dynamic & innovative Senior Occupational Therapist to contribute to an effective occupational therapy service to meet the needs of our Client.
Job Purpose:
Under the general direction of a Team Manager to provide a high quality and comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to disabled adults, children and young people, carers and community with specific responsibilities for managing a caseload of higher levelsof challenge and complexity in accordance with the organisational needs, policy and practices of the Directorate and within statutory guidelines.
The Senior Occupational Therapist key duties and responsibilities will be:
- Undertake a range of complex Occupational Therapy assessments.
- Manage and monitor a workload of complex and diverse cases taking account of the need to prioritise tasks and responsibilities, ensuring statutory legislation and service priorities are met
- Keep up to date, accurate case notes and provide written and verbal reports which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence, for example, recommendations for major adaptations and specialist/bespoke equipment
- Carry out complex moving and handling assessments, make appropriate recommendations for specific equipment to reduce the risk for carers providing subsequent advice and training
- Take a lead for the enhanced screening of new referrals and people already in receipt of services
- Use management information systems, keep them up to date and provide concise and accurate information within the requirements of data protection
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other professionals within the directorate and partner agencies to ensure an integrated, holistic and multidisciplinary approach to the care management and safeguarding of disabled adults, olderpeople, children and young people, contributing to safeguarding investigations as appropriate
- Work to and within the prescribed standards of the College of Occupational Therapists
To work as a Senior Occupational Therapist in this unique role you will need:
- Evidence of entitlement to work in the U.K.
- Evidence of essential qualifications
- Two satisfactory Clinical references covering the last 5 years.
- Valid HCPC Pin Appropriate Occupational Therapy qualification Degree/Diploma
