    Description

    Location:
    Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, Frimley, Brough, Portsmouth, Weymouth or Manchester – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

    Taking a leading role in aspects of the propulsor design, manufacture, installation and in service support across the submarine flotilla.

    Developing installation procedures considering operations requirements and Health & Safety
    Involved in the analysis of submarine propulsor structures through Finite Element Analysis
    Working alongside other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated system solutions
    Gathering evidence to demonstrate compliance of these solutions with safety, function and performance requirements
    Authoring and reviewing design and analysis reports
    Responding to build issues through collaboration with Operations and Construction Engineering
    Degree or equivalent experience in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
    CAD experience
    Mechanical engineering experience
    Previous experience of manufacture assembly and commissioning activities
    Submarine or Shipbuilding design/analysis experience
    Mentoring of junior team members
    An interest in metallic and composite materials

    The Propulsor Engineering team:

    You will engage regularly with industrial partners and liaise with specialists to agree technical solutions that contribute to the success of our programmes.
