Are you looking for a new, exciting, and challenging role working as part of a proactive forward thinking Clinical Practice Educator within Public Health Nursing ?

We are looking for highly motivated, professional, and well-organized individual who has the required experience, skills and knowledge.

The postholder will require strong effective communication including digital and interpersonal skills and a drive vision for innovation and improvement.

They will provide clinical practice education and quality assurance support within public health nursing.


The postholder will provide support and assessment in clinical practice and in the placements of Pre-registration and Specialist Community Public Health (SCPHN) (School Nursing -(SN) ) students allocated by Higher Education Institutes Wales (HEIW's).

The Clinical Practice Educator (CPE) also contributes to learning and teaching within practice which, in turn, ensures an effective learning environment in the clinical practice setting, achieved by facilitating the practice assessor / practice supervisor model.


The postholder will contribute to learning and teaching within public health nursing practice by development of an effective evidenced based learning environment across the integrated School Nursing, Looked After Children (LAC) and Immunisation services.

Additionally, the role will include other project work connected to quality assurance / education as directed by the Senior Nurse.


The role is structured as follows: 50% clinical practice within a SCPHN (School Nurse) caseload and 50% within Clinical Practice Educator role. This is a required to facilitate/ oversee SCPHN (SN) student placements.


The base / allocation SCPHN caseload will be discussed at interview, the CPE role is Gwent wide therefore you would need to meet the geographical requirements of the role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
