    Musk Process Services is part of the Edwin James Group, a leading independently owned property and infrastructure support services company delivering integrated building and facilities management services.

    As the Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising and assisting the engineering activities of all processes to the achievement of planned site operational and Health & Safety objectives.

    Reporting directly to the Site Manager you will work at our FMCG site based in Manchester.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To be a hands-on (60/40% (approx) split practical/office based) member of the maintenance team, providing leadership and motivation to the engineering team.
    • Leading a multi-skilled engineering team including delegation of work and monitoring individuals and team performance.
    • Responsible for identifying and prioritising pro-active and reactive maintenance tasks daily.
    • Supporting the Site Manager in the day to day running of the maintenance team.
    • Communicate with the site leadership team escalating any problems or issues related to production and engineering.
    • Writing clear and concise handovers between shifts; capturing machines issues that could impact production.
    • Lead the shift on day-to-day maintenance activity maintaining machine availability.
    • Liaise with Site Manager regarding Continuous Improvement and long-term projects.
    • Provide hands on support for shift teams.
    • Mentor apprentice(s) within the maintenance department.
    • To actively and analytically fault find.
    • Responsible for overseeing plant safety including site emergency procedures.
    • To assist in setting of machines in conjunction with the operations team.
    • Deputise in the absence of the Site Manager.
    Skills and Experiences
    • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
    • Competent in use of CMMS systems, maintenance and planning.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with personnel at all levels.
    • Excellent time management with the added need for flexibility as and when required to meet business needs.
    Specific Qualifications
    • Recognised apprenticeship / qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
    • ILM level 3 – Management / Leadership qualification would be advantageous.
    • Effective organisational and planning skills.
    • Strong technical knowledge in FMCG industry equipment (desirable).
    • Previous experience leading a multi-skilled engineering team.
