    About the Role

    Responsible for the successful delivery of the Voneus Fibre network construction for your projects.


    As the Build Senior Supervisor you will be expected to provide/deliver support to your Build Partners onsite, working in collaboration with the Voneus Build function, managing the onsite teams on build projects, to deliver our customer requirements, ensuring industry leading build principles and standards are achieved.

    What you will be responsible for

    On site eyes and ears for the Voneus PMO team providing the conduit from site to office;

    Ensure compliance with all Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) requirements from Openreach;

    Liaison with Sub Contractors to rectify issues quickly and instil a right first-time mentality;
    Validation and signoff for Homes Passed (HP) and Ready for Service (RFS);

    Ensure all resources are in place, in line with the plan and hold the required certification and accreditation, to perform the roles;

    Engage in issue management, with the onsite teams to resolve any ongoing issues that arise;

    Stakeholder management with Local Authorities and Highways;

    Drive the performance and quality of all resources, ensuring that teams understand the company and customer requirements;

    Work with onsite Partner supervision to drive smarter and better work practices to give higher efficiency;

    Act as an extension to the PMO team flagging escalations;

    Ensure any changes and variations are tracked and reported to the PMO department;

    Be open to changes and ideas that can reduce cost without impacting functionality, quality, or safety;

    Take resident feedback to drive better standards;

    Drive a proactive mentality, ensuring our teams are the best in the industry;
    Be the first line escalation for your Build Partner working hand in hand with their Supervisors, Gangers etc and form part of the solutions team to ensure the build is efficient, built in a timely manner to the correct standards and specifications;
    Build and maintain effective and healthy relationships with suppliers, internal teams, council & Highways representatives and customers;
    Work with Partners and the PMO team to ensure that the calculated Cost Per Premise Past (CPPP) is maintained during the build phase;

    Evaluate and discuss solutions to drive cost down helping to improve CPPP;

    Interaction with Community Engagement team and pre sales to ensure signed up customers are aware of progress;
    Liaising with all required internal departments and teams to ensure the successful rollout of the fibre build; and,

    Interaction with residents and businesses during build where required ensuring any potential sales are established.

    What we are looking for

    Up to five years' of relevant experience within a similar role managing or supervising on a Fibre Build;
    Understanding of Utilities marketplace;
    Long standing experience with Partner Management and driving to success;
    A background in and/or formal training on Project Management methodology (Prince 2 or PMP etc);
    Fibre network build and related civil supervisory experience is vital for this role;
    An understanding of setting HSEQ requirements and driving a safe working practice;
    Leadership skills and ability to set an example;
    Flexible, quick thinker, highly organised and can deal with tight deadlines and a demanding environment;
    Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills;
    Ability to give and receive positive and constructive feedback;
    Attention to detail without missing the bigger picture;

    Ability to creatively solve problems;
    An open minded consultative approach;
    Confident and proactive, prepared to take a hands on approach;
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
    Appreciation of civils activities and methodologies to build networks, duct laying, narrow/micro trenching, poling etc.;

    Strong administration skills;
    Proven experience of Managing or supervising civils and/or cabling teams within a Telecoms business ideally FTTx;
    Qualified in with a working knowledge of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991;
    Working knowledge of CDM practices and regulations; and
    Experience of the Openreach network topography particularly Passive Infrastructure Access (PIA) process.

    What you will need to have

    Formal education in a related subject;
    IOSH or other HSE qualification desirable;
    PIA accreditation in; SA001, SA002, S7 & S8;

    Valid driving license;

    CSCS or SSMTS qualification; and,
    NRSWA Supervisor.
