A great opportunity has arisen for a senior Firmware Engineer to join this employee-owned electronic instrumentation manufacturer.

You will be joining a collaborative and cross-functional team of Software and Hardware Engineers to deliver high quality/performance, scalable and reliable firmware solutions.

You will ideally have an Electrical Engineering background and solid experience of firmware or embedded software development (C/C++). You will have a strong, analytical mindset and enjoy problem solving/debugging/trouble-shooting/diagnostics/testing etc.

The role requires a level of maturity and to be able to work collaboratively with Hardware Engineers for the seamless integration of firmware with electronic components.

Proficiency with embedded C++ programming, microcontroller architectures, SDLC, version control (Git) communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB).

Additionally, any experience with industrial communications (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet IP and PLC integration) will be a definite advantage, as will electronics circuit design and awareness of compliance requirements (FDA 21 CFR pt:11).

Experience of working to ISO13485 standards would also be beneficial.
