Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm (flexibility required)
JOB OVERVIEW
The function of the Environmental and Sustainability Researcher is to provide support for the delivery of: Research on sustainability and regulations; Support delivery of Project business plans; Support to Project Owners in advancing delivery of business plans and business development.
As the Environmental and Sustainability Researcher you will also support the R&D Manager in providing the sustainability and environmental assessments, reports and statistics, and the Business Development Manager in providing support relating to overseas projects.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Environmental and Sustainability Researcher will include:
Research into regulatory practices/frameworks and documenting all findings for overseas projects, this may include literature and database searches, conducting interviews, preparing questionnaires and meetings with regulatory bodies and agencies
Research into costs and availability of resources for project business plans
Responsible for research, data collection and accurate reporting to assist project business plans
Maintenance of Business Plans over the Project Life
In conjunction with the Project Lead help identify and build relationships with key partners
Keep up to date with the Environmental and Sustainability agenda including upcoming national/international statutory requirements
Collating and maintaining sustainability KPIs
Creation of LCAs and carbon footprints
Preparation of briefs, presentations and communication of regulations and trends for the project teams
Be a role model for health & safety and professional standards of conduct
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
Degree/diploma in a relevant discipline (environmental science & management, sustainability, carbon management etc)
Clear communication and presentation of research undertaken
Good experience of teamwork, able to demonstrate contributions made in this regard
Flexibility with regard to travel and working hours
A professional approach
A measured and creative approach to problem solving
Able to work autonomously, prioritizing and meeting deadlines as appropriate
Excellent communication skills at all levels within the Company and externally
Flexibility to work at multiple locations both National and International, if required
Prepared to undertake training and development as required
Excellent IT skills, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ideally Microsoft Project
Ideal
Knowledge of environmental/sustainability issues and opportunities
Knowledge of environmental and sustainability legislation and how this applies to a business
Working knowledge of the ISO standards
Working knowledge or experience of projects from conception to final implementation
Working knowledge or keen interest in carbon, CCU/CCUS
Ability to adapt to change in fast growing Company
Second Language an advantage but not essential
Driving licence an advantage but not essential
