    Use your knowledge and abilities to influence and develop the procurement strategy for our force Were looking for a Deputy Head of Procurement to join our Support Services Department.

    Youll take the lead on major force procurements including high value and high risk.

    Working closely with internal departments, youll plan the procurement activities and provide advice and guidance and be at the forefront supporting the implementation and development of procurement strategy and systems.

    Looking at the continuous improvement of the service we deliver, enhancing our expertise and building capability.
    Youll be providing advice to the force on procurement procedures and contract management.
    Undertaking procurement processes, including advertising contract opportunities, analysing and evaluating tenders and writing recommendations.

    Managing a team, you will ensure relevant training and awareness of procurement issues across the force is maintained and carried out.

    Have experience of procurement within a large organisation, including drafting contractual documents and tender invitations
    Able to prepare service level agreements and managing supplier performance and development
    Ability to advise of senior managers and budget holders relating to procurement procedures and processes.

    For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
