Business Plan Delivery Lead

The Business Plan Delivery Lead will play a key role in supporting and monitoring the delivery of the various elements of Chiltern's Annual Business Plan.
The role sits within the Business Planning team at Chiltern, meaning you will engage regularly with the Department for Transport (DfT), internal colleagues across various departments, and other industry partners.
The Business Planning team manages the relationship between Chiltern and the DfT and ensures that we operate within the terms of our National Rail Contract (NRC).
Key deliverables from Chiltern's Annual Business Plan include:
- Delivery of our Business Plan Commitments for 23/2
- Achieving good results in our Key Performance Indicators.
- Fulfilling the criteria required to achieve our Performance Based Fee (PBF).
- Responding to DfT's Request for Business Plan for 24/25.
The Business Plan Delivery Lead role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop a wider understanding of the rail industry as a whole.
This could be someone working on the railway's frontline or a person who until now has been focused on one particular area of the railway.
You could also be someone with a good understanding of the railway sector and the relevant skillset who is looking for their first role in the industry, or a career-changer who is able to demonstrate an active interest combined with relevant experience.
Managing the fulfilment of the PBF Scorecard Criteria within the NRC - you will be responsible for making sure that we are clearly and effectively demonstrating to the DfT that we are meeting all the relevant requirementsTracking delivery of Business Plan Commitments - you will need to have an overview of progress against all commitments and be able to communicate this to business leaders each rail period in a clear and concise way
Supporting the Annual Business Plan process for 24/2- you will be required to cross-check the initiatives proposed by the business against the DfT's requirements
Visualisation of KPI Performance - you will need to ensure data on KPIs from different areas of the business is well-presented in a uniform style that's easy for someone unfamiliar with the data to digest
Building a strong relationship with DfT colleagues and representing Chiltern and its interests in an effective and collaborative manner
Deputise for the Client Relations & Strategic Delivery Manager in matters relating to the Annual Business Plan
- Demonstrable interest in and general understanding of the railway industry
Ability to create succinct and informative reports and confidence in presenting these to the wider business and other stakeholders
Demonstrable experience of representing your organisation in front of customers, clients and/or stakeholders
