Join us as Financial Crime Officer

  • This is an opportunity to take on a role in which you'll manage the analysis, assessment, and investigation of issues that affect our organisation
  • You'll be responsible for embedding and developing the bank's financial crime threat intelligence framework

What you'll do:


You'll adhere to the team's risk appetite, policy standards, and all relevant external laws, regulations, and industry guidance across the sector.

You'll oversee the delivery of strategic threat intelligence assessment, dissemination, and analytical outputs to identify any potential risks and issues that would impact the bank.

Your role will also involve engaging with key internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the development of the team, and coaching colleagues as needed.

In addition to this, it'll be your responsibility to:

  • Support the delivery and development of a high quality, comprehensive, prevention focussed threat intelligence function within Financial Crime
  • Oversee the assessment of priority financial crime threats and ensure that these assessments result in timely, actionable outputs
  • Oversee the delivery of complex financial crime investigations arising from law enforcement referrals, ensuring that risks are identified and appropriately managed
  • Represent the bank in both public and private partnership threat intelligence engagements with law enforcement, government agencies, and peer banks
  • Work with other financial crime and fraud teams to develop analytical tools that support the identification of financial crime threats and the management of risks

The skills you'll need:


You'll need knowledge of financial crime threat typologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to produce high quality intelligence outputs.

You should also have experience of working in a management role within a financial crime intelligence team or similar specialist function, ideally in a financial services environment.


You'll also need:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in terms of stakeholder and relationship management
  • Experience of developing and using data analytics to assess financial crime threats and to prioritise and manage financial crime risks
  • Experience of managing a team and providing clear purpose and direction, and coaching colleagues to develop their skills and performance
  • A good understanding of relevant existing and proposed legislation in relation to economic crime
